"Hi there.
I am excited to be a part of Park Orchards Oasis Church. Since POOCC began God has been doing an awesome work in my life. Ten years ago He placed in me the desire to become a School Chaplain and in the past couple of months He has opened many doors to allow this dream to come to pass by blessing me with the role of School Chaplain at Park Orchards Primary School. With the support of the POOCC congregation and leaders Pastor Tristan and Cheryl Forrest and most importantly God, I feel so loved as a member of the church and in my role as a Chaplain. With God's love, wisdom and guidance and the safety of such a wonderful church of believers in Christ I know my walk in God will only grow stronger day by day as I press into Him and become the woman He created me to be.
Psalms 143:10; Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground."

We had our first Thirst Youth Group (try saying that five times fast). It went so fantastic! We had our community launch on the 14th of August which was a superb event. We have spoken to all the local schools, sports clubs, recreation clubs, cafe's and businesses and there has been such a positive response, but in the end people have to trust us and we understand that. That's why Thirst Youth Group has been mainly growing through word of mouth. Youth that have been attending have been saying things like, "man I've gotta invite my friends to this," and they so often do the week after. Youth love to meet other people there age, and of course, playing the Wii and other games/activities is always entertaining (and not just for the youth!)
If you are reading this, you're between 10 and 16 and live nearby, why not come to Thirst on a Friday arvo, especially on 18th of September, where we will be hiring sumo suits and having a barrel of laughs.

I look forward to seeing you there,

"Hi there to any kids reading right now,
I just have to say, with my parents being the pastors, I have had a great experience at Kings Kids.
The Leader, Ben, is just the best. I enjoy playing all the cool games and the great gospel message at the end. He also helps us to start a new life with Jesus, and I, so far, am totally enjoying my new life!
He also let's us volunteer for plays that take place in bible stories, and my favourite part...he lets us watch movies and videos of Christian bands and how they become who and what they are right now.
Just like other kids, we like to have fun in a godly manner and he helps us to do so.
So please come in now and receive a free bible and a new fantastic life with Jesus Christ!!!" Jordyn Forrest, age 10

"Kingdom Growth:
How awesome is our God and how amazing it is that He wants to partner with us in building His Kingdom. He has given the church all it needs to grow; the potential is within us, His people. Just as God places the potential for growth in all living things, so it is in His church. Ecologists look at nature and recognise the inherent capacity of living things to grow, reproduce and survive. They call it the "biotic potential". It was God's intent to build this perpetuity into His creation from the start. It is the secret of life and a divine principle of creation. Growth cannot be manufactured or forced, however certain things can encourage growth.
The Biblical concept behind this principal is best described by Mark 4:26-29. Jesus says, "the kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the ground. He goes to bed at night and gets up by day, all by itself the seed sprouts up and grows - how, he himself does not know." This parable shows what people can and should do, and what they cannot do. People cannot force growth. We can however encourage the God-given potential within every living thing.
This concept also applies to the Kingdom of God and Church. At Oasis Christian Church we work with the potential God has placed within His people, and the principals that govern life. It is an exciting thing to be involved in the most important project in the world. To see the supernatural in the natural, the extraordinary in the ordinary. It is truly a privilege to be a part of what God is doing in Park Orchards!"

"Welcome to our site! Oasis Christian Church is a contemporary church of bible believing Christians with a passion for God and their community. Our services were on a Sunday morning, but were moved to a Friday night in July 2009. One of the reasons for this is the increasing amount of activities and sports on a Sunday morning. The church has always shown an ability to adapt and change to meet their surroundings, and this is most certainly one of those opportunities. We were approached by the Manager of Domeney Recreation to see if we could provide a Youth Program for the region. Up to 100 youth used to attend various activities at Domeney on a Friday night, so it's clear to see that there is a real opportunity to not only entertain the youth, but provide some hope and positive reinforcement in their lives. The love of Jesus is a message that transcends all time. We all desire to be loved, accepted for who we are and find a purpose for our lives. Whether young or old, we at Oasis believe in this very relevant message of Jesus Christ in our twentieth century society, that we need someone to guide us, someone to point us the way!
Why don't you come and join us a Friday night for something different and see how enjoyable and relevant church can be! If you are a youth between 12 and 18, come to Thirst on a Friday afternoon to a non-demoninational, relaxed environment and join us for some 'laugh your head off' activities and relevant chats.
We can't wait to meet you!"

"Hi,
In 2006 after being in Park Orchards for 2 years, Rob and I attended a business seminar that included a free Christian component in the evening. Little did we know that it would be the beginning of our great relationship with God. After that seminar we spent time in the following year looking for a church that not only offered us the same atmosphere as we experienced in 2006 but also one where we felt at home. I sometimes feel that Oasis was planted in Park Orchards just for us! It was exactly what we were looking for and more. It was easy to relate with the pastors and church members from the moment we visited Oasis church. Welcoming, fun, and down to earth family people who are also committed to God! The kids even love Kings Kids! I feel blessed to be a new Christian at Oasis."

"Welcome!
Hi, I’m Ben, King’s Kids leader. It’s been so great to be a part of Oasis Christian Church in Park Orchards; 1) because the unique community atmosphere is really something that I’ve been craving in church, 2) there are many opportunities to serve, and 3) after a hard week, the Friday night service really regenerates and lifts you for the exciting weekend ahead!
If you’ve got kids, bring them along and they’ll just love the children’s program which we have planned each week. My wife Lisa and I have great plans for the future of King’s Kids and have just started a new curriculum which is fun, well-organised, exciting and suits and meets the individual needs of the kids. At present we may be a small group with ages ranging from P - 6, but Lisa and I love each and every one of them dearly. As Cheryl said, “it is an exciting thing to be involved in the most important project in the world” - in this case - seeing children want to love and follow Jesus!
At Oasis, we love the Bible and one of the many things it says is, “Train up a child in the way he should go” Proverbs 22:6.
Come along and we hope to see you!"
